No engraving, no glass, no hinge you can see from the front. The catch is a thumb-piece set flush into the rim and it opens with a fingernail rather than a fight.
Inside there is room for two small photographs or one and a lock of something. I cut the discs to fit whatever you bring in, which is a twenty-minute job and comes with it.
The chain is a heavier gauge than a locket usually gets. A fine chain under a locket looks apologetic and wears through at the bail inside a decade.
